Where he came from

I grew up in East Texas. A poor kid and a poor town. Made my way to University of Texas. And helping first time homebuyers is the only thing I've ever done.

He co-owns Watters International Realty and has teams working across Austin, Dallas–Fort Worth, San Antonio and Killeen. He has worked the top of the market — Grammy winners, a country music entertainer of the year, houses at three million dollars. He is unusually blunt about which part of it he kept.

Why a broker went and got a mortgage licence

I also hold a mortgage loan officer license. Is it because I think I'm going to be able to pick up a lot of mortgage business? No, it's because I want to have these conversations with you about the numbers and the program requirements, and I want to do that legally.

It is a small point that explains most of the rest. Without the mortgage licence he could not legally walk a buyer through a payment estimate or a specific programme, which is the only conversation actually worth having.

I'm not a lawyer or a magician, but I am an expert in this field.

What he is actually annoyed about

Follow the money

There are a lot of people out there who don't make as much money when you do utilize the first time home buyer programs. Follow the money every time.
It's a sin that nobody's ever told you about this.

Forty-five minutes, live, and you can ask which programs apply to a situation like yours.
