8a. Advertising and Measurement

We advertise HomeBuyerSchool.com on platforms including Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google (Google Ads). To understand which ads lead people to contact us, to improve that advertising, and to show our ads again to people who have already visited this site, we share a limited amount of information with those platforms.

What we share with Meta: contact identifiers such as your email address and phone number, always hashed (scrambled) before they are sent, together with standard technical identifiers such as advertising cookie IDs, your IP address and your browser type.

What we share with Google: technical identifiers only. Which pages of this site you visited, together with advertising cookie IDs, your IP address and your browser type. We do not send your name, email address or phone number to Google, hashed or otherwise.

What we do not share with either platform: we do not send your quiz answers, income, credit, rent, lease details, home-ownership history, military service, your results, your score, or any qualification or programme-match information to advertising platforms. That information stays with us and the systems we use to help you.

Why: to measure which advertising produces enquiries, to attribute them correctly, to build audiences of people who have visited this site, and to decide how to spend our advertising budget.

Some of this happens on our servers. Part of the Meta measurement is sent directly from our servers to Meta after you submit a form, which means your browser’s cookie settings do not control it. Use Your Privacy Choices below to switch off both the browser and the server-side measurement.
